Located in Sydney’s vibrant inner-west suburb of Leichardt, the Colour Lounge is a completely new salon concept that is a sophisticated lesson in recession-chic.
Born from a desire to provide top-quality colour service without the hefty price tag, Australia’s first boutique colour-only hair salon provides hair colour in a shorter time and at a cheaper price.
The self described “IKEA of hair colour” uses the O&M range of ammonia-free colour in its glamorous yet comfortable city fringe locale. With dark floor boards, embossed Graham and Brown wallpaper and chandeliers from Mondoluce, the salon has all the hallmarks of an old Hollywood dressing-room.
Each appointment begins with a consultation with a master colourist before colour is applied and clients are moved to a lounge area where they can browse magazines or access the salon’s wireless internet service. Each client is given a small timer indicating when their colour needs removal, after which their hair is shampooed and conditioned.
Clients are then shown to the self-stying bar where top of the range hairdryers, straighteners, curling tongs and styling products allow them to experiment or dash out the door - depending on their schedule.
