The International Makeup Artist Trade Show
[Wed 12/08/2009 12:36:55]
Held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 12 -13 and expected to draw a crowd of 2500, a host of makeup stars will take to the stage alongside numerous educational seminars and 60 international vendors who will be showcasing their wares throughout the two day event.

The makeup director for Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, four time winner of Australia’s Makeup Artist of the Year award and the author of Makeup: The Ultimate Guide, Rae Morris will give a series of hotly anticipated presentations.
Joining Morris will be beauty artist Lisa Garner, Oscar winner Howard Berger, Britain’s BAFTA-winning makeup effects designer Neill Gorton and special makeup effects artist Gino Acevedo.

Garner began her career with Estée Lauder as part of their first Australian makeup team. Now established in the big apple and with a solid body of work that spans the red carpet, press appearances and editorial in high-profile glossy magazines, Garner’s New York based work has seen her preen the faces of celebrity clients including Zac Efron, Christie Brinkley, Viggo Mortensen and Al Gore.

Berger will take to the stage alongside the makeup team from the film The Chronicles of Narnia, to show just why he won an Oscar for his work on the production. Berger has also worked on films such as Inglourious Basterds, Sin City, Kill Bill, Casino, Army of Darkness and Dances with Wolves, among many others.

Gorton’s work has graced the screens on hundreds of TV shows and films including The Da Vinci Code and Children of Men while Acevedo is a prosthetics whiz having leant his formidable talent to productions such as Alien 3, The Nutty Professor, Godzilla, Men in Black, and Peter Jackson’s King Kong and Lord of the Rings trilogy.
