Titled ‘Foundation Styling for the Runway’, the joint initiative gives students first-hand experience of fashion, hair styling and makeup artistry and acts as a foundation for future study within the creative industries.
Pivot Point International Academies are highly regarded hairdressing schools that give graduates the practical and theoretical knowledge to become industry leaders. Home to the Project Runway television series, the Whitehouse Institute of Design was founded in 1988 and is considered a leader in the field of design education.
Throughout the course, students will gain insight into fashion and hair styling and makeup artistry with hands-on experience creating styled looks for the face, hair and body. Students will also learn the importance of time management having to manage teams and have looks completed to deadline – all of this culminating in a live runway show.
The course will run during the second week of the September school holidays from Monday September 28 to Friday October 2, 2009 and the cost is $500 which includes all materials. The workshop will run between Pivot Point International Academy campus and Whitehouse Institute of Design – both in the Melbourne CBD.
