KMS California style the stars at Tropfest 2010

KMS California gained some serious star-studded film cred backstage at the Movie Extra Tropfest festival, ensuring that over 150 dignitaries (including journalists, celebs and film and television executives) looked as stylish as any actor on the big screen.

The KMS California hair team from Hair Allure salon in Ambarvale, NSW, headed by Amanda King, set up a styling space in the VIP tent whichensured Tropfest VIP’s were primped and preened to perfection before being photographed and interviewed by the press. KMS California Hairstay products were the most popular on the night and kept every strand in place

The event – one of the world’s largest short film festivals – was held at Sydney’s Domain in the Royal Botanic Gardens on February 21, and annually attracts a live national audience of more than 150,000 film enthusiasts.

Sixteen finalists were selected from an entry pool of around 650 entries and competed for more than $150,000 in prizes. Taking home the biggest gong on the night was Abe Forsythe from NSW, for his film Shock – inspired by shock jock Kyle Sandilands.

The panel of six celebrity judges included filmmaker 2009 Tropfest winner Genevieve Clay, Michael and Peter Spierig, Elijah Wood, Toni Collette, and David Michôd.
They join a star studded list of previous judges including Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Toni Collette, Rose Byrne, Geoffrey Rush, Russell Crowe, Samuel L Jackson, Baz Luhrmann, Keanu Reeves, Sam Neill, Ewan McGregor.
