ghd appoints Robert Kovacs Education Manager

ghd has appointed Robert Kovacs as its Education Manager Australia and New Zealand – a move that will see Kovacs begin his his new role on April 19, having spent the last eighteen years working for Goldwell KMS.

As one of the leaders in education in Australia and New Zealand Robert is someone we have admired immensely and always felt would be an excellent match to ghd’s passionate salon focused business model. We look forward to him lifting the bar in education excellence for our customers and building an outstanding, world-class education team in both countries,” said ghd managing director, Anthony Grigson.

Kovacs will work with key industry ambassadors in the areas of stylist talent, creative projects, new initiatives and salon business development to further support salon owners Australia and New Zealand wide. 

After beginning his hairdressing career in Queensland, Kovacs then travelled overseas to work with Vidal Sassoon and train with Trevor Sorbie. After returning to Australia, he started his own salon in Brisbane before beginning as a Queensland educator for Goldwell KMS eighteen years ago.

During his time at Goldwell, he progressed through various education roles before becoming Education Manager for Australia New Zealand.

He has also been awarded an Excellence in Education award, voted by the industry and Hair Expo Australia and New Zealand for three years running, among many other management and education awards. He has also been a judge on the Hair Expo panel for four years.
