RAFW: Aveda for Michael Lo Sordo
[Tue 11/05/2010 05:29:52]
Hair Director for Aveda, James Nash and team created soft and romantic hair pulled back in low, twisted buns at Michael Lo Sordo echoing his beautiful colour palette for Spring/Summer 2010 at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney.

As official hair sponsor of the Michael Lo Sordo show, the designer committed to Aveda’s four pillars of fashion week sustainability and ‘greening’ of the backstage area:

1. Show materials and invitations printed on Post Consumer Recycled stock
2. Serve organic food and drinks where possible.
3. Say ‘NO’ to plastic drink bottles (Aveda provided SIGG drink bottles filled with Sydney Tap Water)
4. No fur, feathers or synthetic wigs.

Get the look:
1. Prep hair by applying Aveda’s Confixor to give hair textured, pliable hold ready for styling and blow-dry well.
2. Gently pull hair back into a smooth ponytail and secure with a hair band.
3. Twist the lengths of the hair tightly and wind around the base of the ponytail. Secured with grips or bobby-pins.
4. Gently comb hair on the sides and crown of the head and gently tease to create a softness to the style.
5. Take up some Aveda Light Elements Shaping Wax and gently pat hair to create a light fluffiness to the silhouette.
6. Finish the style with Aveda Control Force Hair Spray (launching 27 June 2010) for delicate but strong hold.
