Paul Mitchell associate Ray Fretwell directed the hair for the launch of Mok Theroem's Spring/Summer 2010/11 collection, presented to an audience of more than 300 guests, at the Audi Centre on Thursday May 20, 2010.

Juxtaposing leather, PVC and heavy zipper detailing with the soft finish of silk and modal, Mok Theorem's Spring/Summer Check Mate collection made the ultimate statement for the upcoming season. Like the garments, the hair too featured both fluid silhouettes and raw texture creating the ultimate feminine allure.

Hair design drew inspiration from the beauty of simplicity, the force of raw femininity and the power of individualism while reflecting the forthcoming spring/summer 2010/11 trends, underscored by Paul Mitchell’s penchant for cultured creativity.

Design duo Grace and Gloria Mok pushed the boundaries of sisterhood to produce the large collection that left a lasting impression on guests including Underbelly’s Cheree Cassidy and Miro from the infamous Miro House. The label’s affinity for quirky twists saw the addition of a Modern Day magician appearing before the show to relax and entertain guests.

Other sponsors included Santa Vittoria, Casio, Ferrero Rocher, White Glo, Face Fashion and of course Audi Centre Sydney. All guests were treated to an assortment of gifts including a personalised Mok Theroem bracelet, with one lucky attendee winning an Audi A5 coupe for the weekend.
Many guests lingered for the ongoing flow of champagne and city views before heading to the exclusive after-party at Kings Cross hotspot, Kit and Kaboodle.

Reversed Chignon
1. Blow-wave hair straight with Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum
2. To create a high pony-tail on the crown, comb hair to the very top of the head and secure with an elastic ensuring not to
pull the tail end of the pony all the way through so to leave a loop sticking upwards.
3. Comb the ends forward to form a ‘fringe’ - sweeping the brow
4. Take one piece of hair from the fringe and wrap around the bun to conceal the elastic
5. Spray the fringe with Paul Mitchell Extra Body Finishing Spray before coating the style in
Paul Mitchell The Shine
Triangular texture
1. Segment a top section from the eye-brow to crown (so to create a horse-shoe shape)
2. Throughout the bottom section only, crimp roots in 5cm sections - applying
Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press to each section prior to heating
3. Loosely wave the ends of the bottom section with your curling iron
4. Comb out the crimped areas before back-combing the roots with Paul Mitchell’s 413 Sculpting Brush
5. Still leaving the top (horse-shoe) section untouched, sweep the bottom section to the side before
back-combing the ends with fingers for added volume throughout the centre
6. Beginning from the behind the ear, brush the left-side back and spray with
Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine Super Spray before applying heat and blow-drying outwards - creating a horse-shoe
shape around the ear
7. Spray Paul Mitchell Extra Body Finishing Spray over the entire bottom section
8. Take the top section out and crimp roots forward before loosely waving the ends
9. Brush out the top section with Paul Mitchell’s 413 Sculpting Brush before pushing to the side and teasing in with the
