After much consideration, Greg Whatling, former managing director of ghd Hair Australia, will return to the industry he is so passionate about – sitting at the helm of electrical hair company, Cloud Nine beside company director, Leonie Whatling.

Greg and Leonie Whatling

His mandate? To put salon and industry growth at the forefront of everything Cloud Nine produces.

The husband-and-wife team, who were responsible for the launch of ghd into the Australia and New Zealand markets in 2002, are thrilled to join forces once again with a focus on bringing innovative electrical styling tools to the professional industry.

“It's exciting to back in an industry built on passion and creativity,” said Greg. “I am thrilled to work alongside Leonie and build the Cloud Nine brand in a direction that’s focused on salon-only, quality-made products with both the stylist and consumer in mind.”

Cloud Nine is working with Unil Electronics, a Korean based company known for its brilliance in innovation and technology.

“Cloud Nine will continue to offer the best in technology and second to none production; the most critical element of our mission is ensuring we are more than a one-product company. The inventors see product development and innovation as crucial for brand longevity, as do we," said Leonie.

“Competition is a welcomed move in growing and supporting the professional industry,” says Greg. Cloud Nine is all about bringing profits to salons – we will never supply any large Internet retailers and our product offering comes with healthy margins for salons.”

Cloud Nine is delivering a dream team of hair talent. Heading up sales and education is Creative Director Dimitri Fronis, whilst Cloud Nine’s National Sales Manager, Despina Biazos joined the team after a number of successful years at Queensland’s Headline Distribution.

Chantal Pedersen heads the Cloud Nine marketing team while Salon Development Consultants Rebecca Sweric and Areti Fronis also made the move from Headline Distribution.
