The 36th annual Hair Expo Australia may be over, but no doubt exhibitors and guests are still buzzing from the excitement, education and inspiration overload that was on offer this year.

The Hair Expo Main Stage

The world’s top industry names converged on the Sydney Convention Centre for the three-day event that saw local and international hairdressers, brands and entrepreneurs enjoying everything they could possibly pack into the Queen's birthday long weekend from June 12 - 14.

Leading creative educators such as Sassoon, Mahogany, Jayne Wild, Sharon Blain, and Caterina DiBiase enriched visitors’ business nous with in-depth creative seminars, sharing their top tips as well as tried and tested tools from the industry.

Other big names including Stephanie Kocielski, Global Artistic Director for Paul Mitchell and Matrix Design Team member, Sue Morgan with her special guest Stelios Papas, educated and entertained on stage. There was also an abundance of look and learn seminars offering a wealth of creative inspiration.

The business program opened with the L'Oreal Professionnel-sponsored Business Breakfast on Sunday morning, followed by an up close and personal lunch with Vidal Sassoon Global Creative Director Mark Hayes.

During the afternoon, Aveda's Benchmarking Your Business seminar offered focused coaching in business success, followed by 2010 Hairdressing Hall of Fame inductee Paul Serville, from New Zealand, who gave his valuable insight into successful long-term growth strategies.

On Monday, entrepreneurs savoured the Goldwell Building Better Business Breakfast.

As if that wasn't enough, there were free sessions on the floor all weekend, where local and international industry icons offered cutting, colouring and styling classes and competitions.

On the exhibition floor, 2010 was also the year of the big names, including L’Oreal Professionnel, Matrix, Schwarzkopf Professional, Indola, Redken 5th Avenue NYC, Goldwell, ghd, Aveda, Paul Mitchell, Davines, and Moroccanoil.

Visitors to the Hair Expo also made the most of the two Hair Expo stages, the Awards Gallery lounge and live session photography on the floor.

Artists including Shane Henning, Brad Ngata, Caterina DiBiase, Damien Rinaldo, Tracey Hughes and Philip Barwick, dazzled guests, giving them food for thought and tips and tricks to take back to the salon.
