More than 100 guests and VIP Eco Hair Products clients gathered in the illustrious surrounds of the Palace Cinemas at South Yarra’s Como Centre and sipped on Sex and the City-inspired Cosmopolitan cocktails while the memorable mood was set thanks to a pianist and a generous flow of canapés.

With the aim of providing the industry with a different take on the traditional photographic competition, Eco Hair Products inspired hairdressers to produce a total look that epitomised the ideal men’s, woman’s and colour fashion statement.

After experiencing the great hospitality synonymous with the ECO Hair Products brand, guests moved next door to the state of the art ECO Environmental Training Academy where host of the night, John Montano greeted guests with his usual flair and entertaining cheekiness.

Each of the 28 finalists were congratulated on stage and received a certificate as well as a CHI Man briefcase packed full of the latest men’s haircare, styling and grooming products.

After an entertaining all male dance group and a fashion show of men’s and women’s hair and colour trends, the first award for the night was announced. Alexandra Kontos from Nischler was crowned the winner of the CHI Woman’s Editorial Fashion Awards with her avant-garde creation of curls, texture and body.

Next up was the announcement of the CHI Colour Winner with Damien Rinaldo from Hair Machine Norwood receiving the crown for his blonde bombshell – further cementing his reputation for choosing stunning models.

Finally, the highly coveted Men’s award was announced with the winner not only receiving the trip for two to Bali but their image published on the highly sought after front cover of INSTYLE magazine's September/October issue. Congratulations to Carlo Ceravolo from Hair Machine Norwood.

All winners received the coveted ECO Hair Products trophy and a enlarged silk print of their winning look.

No doubt guests left inspired for next year as Eco Hair Products CEO Cliff Georgiades encouraged more hairdressers to enter the competition the next time it comes around - and to pay as much attention to the overall look, as to the hair.
