RSFF: Review Shows
[Thu 26/08/2010 11:17:21]
Philip Barwick directed the hair for Redken 5th Avenue NYC at Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival Review Shows 1 and 2 on Tuesday, August 24, creating hair that embodied the feeling of spring and summer.

Designers showcasing their new season offerings on the catwalk included Anna & Boy, Bianca Spender, Camilla and Marc, Fernando Frisoni, Gary Bigeni, Ginger and Smart, Kate Sylvester, Little Joe Woman, Manning Cartell, Michael Lo Sordo and Zambesi.

“The hair really embodies a feeling of spring and summer. We’ve created a textural upstyle with a slightly modern edge to it,” said Philip of his hair direction for the shows.

“It’s a serene, windswept look with a soft sculpture. Each models’ hair style was slightly different from the next as if they all just walked onto the catwalk after being outside in the wind,” he said.

Get the look:
1. Apply Redken Touch Control 05 to towel-dried hair for grip and texture. Blow dry in.
2. Divide the hair from the middle of the ear to just above the crown. Tie the back section into a high ponytail at the crown. Twist the length of the ponytail and at the same time, spray with Redken Workforce 09 and rouche the hair to create a fibrous texture. Keep twisting into a disheveled knot and pin in place with French u-pins.
3. Lightly spray top section with Redken Style Connection Wool Shake 08 and brush through. Divide into three sections. Brush the side sections back and let the lengths fall over the knot. Pin into place. Brush out small pieces at the sides for a wispy effect.
4. Take the last top section, from the hairline to the crown, and backcomb slightly. Pull section back and pin into place around the knot.
5. Spray Redken Workforce 09 to hold the style in place and follow with Redken Wax Blast 10. For an undone effect, lightly rub the top and sides with palms.
