Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

Hair Director Kevin Murphy styled up a serious storm at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, ensuring models looked runway ready for the festival, which ran from Monday August 31 until Sunday September 5, 2010.

Tuesday night’s look was inspired by the glamour of the 1950’s, with Kevin creating a full bodied style with a sleek shape, reminiscent of an aerodynamic cycling helmet.

Designers showcasing their wares on the catwalk included Alice Euphemia, Alistair Trung, Arnsdorf, Assin, Dhini , Flannel, Gary Bigeni, Kuwaii, MATERIALBYPRODUCT and Therese Rawsthorne.

The use of baby crimpers achieved a modern texture and provided added volume. To create this style, KEVIN.MURPHY ANTI.GRAVITY was applied to dry hair before crimping, with KEVIN.MURPHY NIGHT.RIDER used to create the sculptural shape without weighing down the hair.

Wednesday’s hair was a softer, more feminine style, complementing the vintage tailoring of the evening’s fashion trends.
Labels including Arthur Galan AG, Akira, Aurelio Costarella, Christine, Collette Dinnigan, Gwendolynne, LISA HO, Megan Park, Thurley and Yeojin Bae graced the catwalk.

Glamorous waves helped to achieve the ‘Screen Siren’ style, and were grouped neatly together for a slightly retro look.
The products used to achieve this style were KEVIN.MURPHY ANTI.GRAVITY before drying hair, which was then curled using a curling iron and finished in rollers with KEVIN.MURPHY SESSION.SPRAY.

Despite being a high maintenance look, it can be easily achieved using the SCREEN.SIREN.KIT, complete with ANTI.GRAVITY, TEXTURE.COMB, HAIR.CURLERS and PIN.CLIPS.
