Sharon Blain, one of Australia’s pre-eminent hairdressers and 2010/2009 Hair Expo Educator of the Year is thrilled to announce her educational workshop, BOOT CAMP, her five-day intensive styling course will be back in 2011 after huge success in twenty ten. This award winning educational workshop is set to go around Australia due to popular demand.

In 2010, Sharon Blain conducted two Boot Camp courses which saw them booked out prior to commencement. With thirty students in each course, students experienced the most comprehensive education in dressing hair ever staged in Australia.

Boot Camp brought a mixture of qualified and apprentice hairdressers together with make up artists who travelled from all parts of Australia. Being recognised and admired globally, three students from America travelled especially to Australia to learn from the leading lady herself, Sharon Blain.

Boot Camp fills the gap in education, as it offers students a variety of skills with a combination of content condensed into one course.  The course has been designed to increase their creativity, confidence and ability of each student to take them on their next styling challenge.” says Blain

Under the tutelage of Blain herself, assisted by the Art of Hair artistic team, Boot Camp participants will learn everything they need to know to be at the top of their game. The first day of the action-packed week will see students blow-drying, dressing short and medium hair, setting curls and finger waves. The second day will teach students the fundamentals of long hair design and how to create the perfect French roll, chignon, and various classical shapes. Day three will explore the world of beautiful bridal looks for 2011, and day four will be dedicated to red carpet and contemporary hair stying for special events and editorial shoots. The last day of the course will show students the secrets of photography and session stying covering wig work, special effects, and avant-garde hair design.

Sharon Blain’s Boot Camp is one of its kind and an exciting chance for apprentices, hairdressers, and make-up artists to be taught by one of the industry’s top professionals. The course will combine both step-by-step instructions as well as look and learn delivery and students are encouraged to video and photograph the course for future reference. No prior hairdressing experience is needed, and all participating students will receive a mini styling kit, styling notes, products, and a Graduate Certificate from the Sharon Blain Art of Education academy.
