The rush of salons signing up for the inaugural pinkme! campaign has been so overwhelming that the organisers are extending the sign-up date until 20 September 2010.
The July application deadline was extended as salons have committed to going pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, to raise money and awareness in support of the McGrath Foundation.
The McGrath Foundation funds McGrath Breast Care Nurses to support families experiencing breast cancer right across Australia and increase breast awareness in younger women.
pinkme! is the biggest collaboration ever in Australian hairdressing, bringing salons from across the country and major manufacturers and suppliers together to back the McGrath Foundation and its work.
Each participating salon is being sent promotional material for the campaign to help deck out their salons, with organisers hoping that the industry will raise thousands for the McGrath Foundation.
Any salon that wishes to go pink for October should go to www.pinkme10.com to sign up by 20 September 2010. Everyone will receive a promotional pack to launch their own activities to clients and local press. A list of participating salons can also be found on the website.
