Wella Trend Vision International Finals

The sheer scale of the Wella Trend Vision International Final must be seen to be believed as more than 2,400 hairdressers came together to celebrate colour and creativity the Wella way.

On Saturday, November 6, Halle Freyssinet was transformed into a Wella wonderland for the once in a lifetime cultural experience that is Wella Trend Vision – the standard is high and the energy all encompassing as the global hairdressing community celebrate their passion for their craft.
Following an energising dance act by hit UK dance group Diversity, Trend Vision emcee Patrick Cameron flamboyantly greeted the thousands of guests, eager to represent their country and see the crowning of the winning styling and colour teams for 2010.

Wella International Trend Vision Gold Award winner (Young Talent)
In the Young Talent Category, judged by Eugene Souleiman (Wella Professionals Global Creative Director Care & Styling), Cyrill Brune (Wella Professionals Top Stylist, France), Olivier van Doorne (World Creative Director SelectNY) and Rita Balestriero (Beauty Editor, Vogue Italy), the Gold Award went to The Last Tangle – Jessica Lean and Paige Maw from Australia, while Silver was awarded to Hár-Expo, Iceland and Bronze to Sturmayr Coiffeure, Austria,

Wella International Trend Vision Gold Award winner (Colour)
In the Colour category, judged by Josh Wood (Wella Professionals Global Creative Director, Colour), Sonya Dove (Wella Professionals Top Stylist USA), Catherine Rame (Carlin Trend Agency) and Eve Laborderie (Chief Editor L´Éclaireur), Russia's Denis Osipov´s Studio took out the Gold Award with Silver going to Tendenz Plomp Kappers from the Netherlands and Bronze to Coupe Rokai Salon, USA.
“Trend Vision is part of the Wella brand DNA. It’s what makes the difference between us and the competition in that hairdressers can express their creativity. We lead the professional colour category globally,” said Wella French Country Manager, Jean Marc Lucifora.

“It’s also about education and giving hairdressers freedom and not just for Wella but our four iconic brands in the P&G Salon Professional portfolio Sassoon Professional, Sebastian and Kadus. MCB and Hairworld is also a great opportunity for us to showcase our strong portfolio of ‘mega brands,” he said

After 30 years with Wella Jean Marc has seen the company evolve and never steers from his mission to see the brand not just as leader in colour but also a leader in education, care and styling.
“Our position is that simply the best colour on the market is Koleston Perfect and we have done a lot of research and believe it is still the best colour at the moment. We call it Koleston Perfect because it’s simply the best,” he said.

Coinciding with Trend Vision 2010 Wella unveiled its stunning Spring/Summer 2011 Seasonal Collection called Awakening 3D. This remarkable collection, inspired by Wella Professionals’ yearly trend forecast Trend Vision 2011, was created by Wella Professionals Global Ambassador for Colour Josh Wood. It showcases Wella Professionals’ new 3D Color Technique, designed to add remarkable depth and dimension to hair colour.
The year-long Trend Vision competitions culminated as finalist teams showcased their interpretations of the 2010 trends on stage throughout the day and the esteemed panel of judges made their selection.

The highly respected Wella Professionals Global Creative Directors Josh Wood and Eugene Souleiman presented the awards and winners, who not only receive one of the world’s most coveted awards but also an exceptional education package to facilitate the further development of their talent.
The event also staged an exclusive reveal of the eagerly anticipated new 2011 Trend Vision looks. These directional hair trends demonstrate the inspirational creativity of the Wella Professionals brand and demonstrate its eminence within the industry.

Developed by Josh Wood and Eugene Souleiman in partnership with the brand’s creative team, their enviable insider knowledge and experience of setting catwalk trends has created a groundbreaking portfolio of Haute Couture looks. Year on year, Trend Vision has been proven to be highly influential in shaping key looks.
Internationally respected teams Sassoon Academy, Toni & Guy, Hob Salons and Dmitry Vimnokurov showcased the looks live on stage with an interactive trend zone to allow guests to discuss the making of the looks.

The four themes for Trend Vision 2011 are Passionista, Lumina, Glamazon and Polaris and judging by the images, 2011 Trend Vision is going to be yet another cocktail of coppers, cool blondes, icy tones and honey hues.
In a press conference over the weekend, Wella Professionals also announced Making Waves - a new partnership uniting Wella Professionals around the globe via UNICEF, the largest organisation working for children and young adults in disadvantaged communities. Wella is set to transform lives with hairdressing education in developing countries such as Brazil, China, Indonesia and India.
