The pinkMe! campaign, launched by Easydry and sponsored by Instyle Magazine, styleicons.com.au, Boutique Marketing, L’Oréal Professional Products Division and Shortcuts Software, brought together salons and individuals from across Australia to help raise money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses throughout the country.

Over 840 individual hairdressers from Casino to Port Kennedy, Darwin to Launceston and everywhere in between took part in Australian hairdressing’s biggest ever fundraising event in October and helped raise $25,000 for the McGrath Foundation.

Gavin Hinton, General Manager of Easydry, said: “The first ever pinkme! has been an amazing success. I want to thank all the salons that participated, and the sponsors too. It has been a team effort to raise more than $25,000. Next year we plan to raise even more.”

Hairdressers wore pink, decorated their salons pink, baked pink cakes and sold raffle tickets while, of course, every customer experienced the pink Easydry eco-towel, launched to highlight that October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. $25 from each box of Easydry eco-towels sold went to the McGrath Foundation, as well as all the donations raised in salons.

As well as raising funds and promoting goodwill among clients, many salons were able to secure publicity in their local media thanks to their activities.

Local salons such as New Wave Hair Salon in Temora, Raw Hair Design in Byron Bay, Hair City in Dubbo, Mosaic Hair Salon in Narooma and Hair Beauty Soul in Sydney are just a handful of the businesses that saw their salon name in the paper.

Other major players supporting the campaign included past Australian Hairdresser of the Year Caterina DiBiase in Sydney, Toni&Guy Sydney and Gold Coast, Tognini’s in Queensland, Wild Life in Sydney and Zucci Hairdressing in Melbourne.

To sign up to pinkme! next year go to www.pinkme10.com/, email the Easydry team on info@easydry.com or call 1300 071 714.
