e SALON gives back to the community
[Thu 16/12/2010 10:25:17]
Always passionate about and proud of his industry, on Monday 29th November 2010, Emiliano Vitale, the Creative Director of é SALON was even prouder than usual to be a hairdresser.

Emiliano Vitale witnessing the difference his donated computers are making to St Edmund's school.
He spent the morning at St. Edmund’s in Wahroonga, a co-educational special high school for teenagers with a wide range of disabilities including sensory impairment, intellectual disability and autism.
The school was founded in a North Shore house 58 years ago, as a small Christian Brothers' school for blind boys. Now St Edmund’s has a role and reputation in the community beyond its walls. Today 120 happy faces arrive for school each morning; a place they love, and where they are able to learn.
In late 2009, é SALON was asked if they could donate a haircut for a silent auction at St Edmund’s annual gala night which raises money for the school.
But the salon decided to go a few steps further! They decided that it was time to make a considerable contribution to a school that does so much. One of é SALON's clients is the school librarian, and the team discovered that a new library was being built and it needed some extra equipment to make a real difference..
é SALON purchased 12 computers, which are compatible with an electronic whiteboard, and donated them to the school. Upon his visit, Emiliano saw the difference that technology makes in the lives of the kids of St Eddy’s.
Emiliano was escorted around the library, the school grounds, the gymnasium and saw firsthand the work these dedicated teachers do.
He witnessed a young blind boy being taught to memorize the keyboard with a set of headphones on, complete a spelling test and achieve 10/10; all achieved with the computers é SALON donated.
Emiliano also saw an interactive Powerpoint presentation on the differences between 1915- 2010, created entirely on the é SALON computers, by a severely autistic child.
In what has been a year of monumental achievements for both Emiliano on an individual level and the team at é SALON, the ability to contribute to the community, topped é SALON's list. Via this contribution Emiliano has realized that hairdressing is quite possibly the greatest career on earth!
