The new H2D X3 curling wand launched recently in Christchurch, New Zealand, and 16 models at the event were each styled differently to perfectly showcase the stylers capabilities.

The wand features three different sized detachable heads which creates a myriad of different curls including boho beach waves, bed head, red carpet and runway looks, old Hollywood glamour, spiral, lose tousles, wavy, barrel and sculptured curls. The specially designed head retains heat, creating curls which last for up to three days.

Leading New Zealand hairdresser Mike Hamel from Runway Hair and Ginger Meggs Hair joined with super-stylist Andre Faiva to create the looks. The duo were joined by creative director of Revolution Australia, Sandra Favia, who helped train the creative team to learn all the new looks the X3 can achieve.
With little effort, clients can have ‘Victoria Secret’ curls, soft waves, light textured waves and editorial curls (to name just a few) – and there are detailed step-by-step videos to get you to your style destination, courtesy of HairTV Australia.

Mike admitted that like a ‘typical hairdresser’ he didn't read the instructions the first time he came into contact with the X3 and so, at the beginning, wasn't ‘blown away’.
“Straighteners can curl and straighten hair - but curls take a lot of practice,” said Mike. “Straightening is easy to achieve - but my clients were always complaining that it is too hard to curl and that the curls don’t last. Curling hair with straightening irons can look very old fashioned but by understanding the X3... you can create fabulous looks with a lot less time and effort.”

The X3 is a superb tool for the home care market, a terrific retail item to stock in the salon – and of course, it’s essential to keep one handy in your very own bag of tricks!
