RAFW: Goldwell for Rachel Gilbert
[Wed 04/05/2011 03:45:49]
Rachel Gilbert’s ‘Blinding Measures’ Spring/Summer 2011/12 collection was brought to life with a very bohemian 70s hair look by Goldwell lead stylist Ivan Chircop from Christopher Hanna hair.

Featuring Violinist Jane Cho and DJ Simon Pongrass Gilbert’s signature statement of confidence once again celebrated the female form as luxurious fabrics and embellished hand-beaded evening gowns added drama to her highly structured collection.

Dripping in diamonds, each gown celebrated a fresh sorbet palette of crisp whites, citrus limes and apricot accents, balanced by neutral undertones. The juxtaposition of structured panelling, sequins and silks created a unique feminine silhouette.
“The look that I created for the runway this year was inspired by the 70s bohemian hippie look that created a bit of an untidy edge to the glamorous outfits,” said Ivan.

Goldwell Style Sign Jelly Boost was used as a root lift to create a dishevelled look before the hair was then middle parted and taken to the back in a topsy twist ponytail covering the ears and messy plaited back half way and held with medium hold Goldwell Style Fix Factor 8 Hair Lacquer Spray. Hair was finished off at the tail with Goldwell Style Sign Flat Marvel Serum.

Napoleon Perdis said the Kates — Bossie, Moss and Beckinsale inspired the make up palette. It's "effortless, languid, almost indifferent" with a focus on the eyes and cheeks,” he said.
