RAFW: Cloud Nine for Camilla and Marc
[Thu 05/05/2011 04:58:33]
Hair Director Jon Pulitano perfected a clean centre-parted straight look for Camilla and Marc’s bold ‘Infinite Variability’ Spring/Summer 2011/12 collection.

Camilla and Marc has taken a bold leap into a futuristic realm of overblown prints, strong colour and opulent textured fabrics to produce a collection that retains the emphasis on classic elegance while injecting a light-hearted spirit.
Set amongst the iconic backdrop of the State Theatre, a sense of old world sophistication underscored one of the most anticipated collections of the week.

Steering away from their usual dominance of sleek silhouettes, the collection played between two extremes – exaggerated volume that sat away from the body and razor-sharp tailoring that injected a more graphic feel. While the room referenced the past, the show’s production celebrated the contemporary with over-saturated runway lighting and a almost sci-fi light installation.

Working with creative director Mark Vassallo and stylist Michelle Jank, the show courageously looks to the future of the brand as Camilla and Marc continues to deliver refined collections for a confident, modern-woman. The long-standing association between Cloud Nine and Camilla and Marc is underscored by both brands’ dedication to quality and innovation.
“The Camilla and Marc look for hair and make up is always about a clean, modern elegance and we like to update it every season while in-keeping with a polished look ” said the design duo.

Jon Pulitano worked with Cloud Nine Irons to infuse the hair with remarkable shine, aiding the overall polished aesthetic that complemented the design collection – without commanding it’s own attention, the models appeared radiant and futuristically fresh.
“I was inspired by the modern and futuristic feel of the Camilla and Marc’s collection. I wanted the hair to reflect the luxe aesthetic of their brand, using the Cloud Nine Wide Iron to incorporate modern texture and overall softness to the look,” Jon said.

“I love working with Camilla and Marc because they are not only a great brother and sister team with such a unified vision, but they are bold enough to try something new while in-keeping with their overall philosophy,” he said.
Infinite Variability is a bright new vision for Camilla and Marc, melding old-world influences into a new world of freshness and colour.

Get the look:
Step 1: Use the Cloud Nine Wide Iron, setting the temperature to a lower heat setting (between 125 and 150 degrees).
Step 2: Smooth sections of the hair and slightly twist the iron and glide it through the hair to create loose, natural movement with lots of gloss and shine.
Step 3: A clean centre part will add a modern finish to the style.
Step 4: Hold the style with hairspray.
