RAFW: L'Oreal Professionnel for Little Joe Woman

One of RAFW’s most anticipated shows, Gail Elliot of Little Jo Woman called on the expertise of Brad Ngata to highlight notes of 1970s New York boho.

The pressure was on from a front row of celebrities eager to learn of Little Jo Woman’s next instalment – a buzz of anticipation met with just the kind of effortless cool we have all come to love and respect from the Australian designer.

The show begun with a personified insight into Gail Elliot’s life – her passion, adventures and designer-hippy moments as expressed through vintage-style photographs in exotic locations alongside husband and prised posession, Joe.

Modern remixes of the The Doors and The Rolling Stones set the tone for Little Jo Woman’s spring summer 2011/2012 showcase; Modern Elixir – a collection illustrated with bold paisley and butterfly-inspired prints, suede minis with 70s style cut outs and a palette splashed with black, rich mauve and sky blue.

Hair design matched the relaxed ‘It girl’ foundation of Modern Elixir – a worn-in Woodstock style defined by tousled textured. Brad Ngata for L’Oréal Professionnel created hair direction that was undone, sexy, relaxed and able to be worn straight off the catwalk. Casual chic at its best.

Get the Look:

1. Using Brad’s double-moussing technique – applying mousse, blasting the hair completely dry and repeating – gives the look a raw texture and natural body.

2. Layer L’Oréal Professionnel Techni.art Full Volume Extra mousse through the roots to the ends.

3. Part front section in the middle and blow dry forward.

4. Using hot irons, wrap sections around the barrel and pull through the hair to achieve a soft wave – leave ends out for a natural look.

5. Just before hitting the catwalk, spray a little L’Oréal Professionnel Play Ball Beach Fizz to add some texture and add volume at the crown.

6. Brush through lightly to add a slight frizz and finish with L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium Lumiére Extreme Hold Professional Hairspray 4 to hold.
