Gallo Hair proudly supported The Red Cross Japan and Pacific Disaster Appeal last month with a successful fundraising day raising over $1,500.

A day of blow-drying at Gallo Hair raised money to help family, friends and clients affected by the Japan tsunami disaster. With product companies and surrounding businesses in the area ready to participate and involve themselves, Sunday 17th April was an unforgettable day.
“As our first fund-raising event held at Gallo Hair, it was a great success and we are extremely happy with the result of the event that helped support the Australian Red Cross for their Japan and Pacific Disaster Appeal 2011,” said Phillip Gallo, Salon Owner of Gallo Hair.
Over $1500 was raised collectively, between blow-drying and raffle tickets, with generous support from existing clients, friends, family and celebrity guest Jacki Weaver.

“It was a small gesture, but an absolute pleasure doing what we love, while raising money to help the people and a country in need. The day was a great success due to all Gallo Hair staff volunteering their time, the generous donations from Sebastian, Kevin Murphy and Cloud Nine, and all the support from our clients,” Phillip said.
Get Gallo’s perfect blow-dry:
1. Start with a really good base of salon shampoo, conditioner and styling product: using Wella SP, Kevin Murphy or Moroccan Oil depending on your hair type.
2. Then blast the hair dry using your fingers to direct the hair in the shape of your head, pushing it left then to the right.
3. When the hair is about 98% dry start to manipulate the shape with a round brush. I like to start at the front of the hairline to the top of the crown bringing all the hair over the face and rolling the brush back, giving a beautiful sweeping finish.
4. Then moving to the back of the head section from the nape up to the crown and rolling the brush into each section of the hair as your drying it. It leaves the hair with a bounce which blends really well with the front area and leaving the hair with a polish.
