Wella Trend Vision State Finals

Hundreds of hairdressers showcased their work in photographic entries to compete for a top spot representing their state at the Wella Trend Vision National finals, submitting work for one of two categories: Colour or Young Talent, interpreting one of the four Wella Trends of 2011: Polaris, Glamazon, Passionista and Lumina.

Wella 'Lumina'
The Colour Award recognises exceptional colouring technique and finish with haircut, make up, accessories and clothes whilst the Young Talent division is open to hairdressers that are under the age of 30, honouring excellent achievement in haircut technique and finish, creative interpretation and refinement of the trend by creating a total look.

Wella 'Glamazon'
The 2011 judging panel for the Wella Trend Vision Awards boasts some of the industry’s biggest names, including: Mark Hayes and Edwards Darley from Vidal Sassoon UK, Bruno Giamattei from Marc Anthony and the Fame Team UK, Phillip Gallo from Gallo Hair, Makeup Artist Melanie Burnicle and the Beauty Director of Madison Magazine, Stephanie Darling.

“I’ve judged Trend Vision many times and must say that this year was the strongest yet,” said Phillip Gallo. “As a trend, Polaris stood out with some really striking interpretations. It was so inspiring to see some very young people in the under 30 category creating looks which were technically perfect.”

Wella 'Passionista'
The Wella Trend Vision Awards also incorporates a People’s Choice Award, which is chosen nationally through online voting by members of the public and the hairdressing profession, and an Apprentice Award in both categories.

Wella 'Polaris'
The finalists from each state will travel to Sydney to compete in the National Final on Monday 5th September, 2011 to vie for their chance to represent Australia at the International Trend Vision Award in New York.
