10 years of Ngata

He’s helped put us on the map as leaders in creative hair direction and dominates a flamboyant niche in the market – oversized frames and bowtie included. Brad Ngata is in a league of his own, and celebrated 10 years of his name as one of the most well known Australian brands in the business in impeccable style.

Held at Sydney’s The Standard, Surry Hills, the gig was bursting with the city’s who’s who – a crowd treated to tunes by DJ duo The Faders and Marc Thibault and served an assortment of beverages by staff dressed in Ngata’s signature accessories.

Blessed with an ability to cast control over any hair type and every trend – Brad has forged himself a stellar reputation in the eyes of everyone from Marie Claire’s, Jackie Frank to Sneaky Sound System’s front woman, Connie Mitchell.

Connie was among Brad’s long list of industry clientele including hot model and media talent, and took to the stage mid-evening in what appeared like an informal ‘happy birthday’ speech. In no time, guests were rocking out to the old and new school tunes of Sneaky Sound System, few able to take their eyes from Connie’s leopard print body suit paired with an upstanding mass of blonde afro curl - so hot, so Brad Ngata.

Fluer Wood and Nick Bryant
In conclusion, Brad illustrated exactly why he was celebrating 10 years of success with an impromptu hair-up before taking to the decks, at one stage clad in a rubber Michael Jackson mask, to play some of his favourite 1980s tunes.

And that’s what the industry has come to know and love of Ngata – an ability to smash expectations out of the water with unforseen creative performances unlikely to be imitated.
