Winning Big at WorldSkills Regionals
[Tue 11/10/2011 10:12:35]
Over the October long weekend, the Australasian College Broadway hosted its first Regional WorldSkills competition with students taking out Gold, Silver & Bronze.

Competing in the Beauty Regionals, the College came out on top with Karly Donovan winning Gold, Shai Sorensen awarded Silver and Whitney Cain receiving Bronze - a first for a Sydney metropolitan private Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Completing various beauty treatments such as facials, lash and brow, waxing, evening makeup and manicures over seven and a half hours, students were required to demonstrate skills at a professional level for each examination.

“The students showed such skill and poise while competing at the Regional WorldSkills,” said Maureen Houssein-Mustafa OAM.
“This is a great reflection on the education and training they have received. They can be confident going forward as they have proven that they can do some of their best work under immense pressure, which in many cases is just like what is required of them in the workplace.”
The Australasian College Broadway have two students competing in the beauty and hairdressing categories at the national WorldSkills in London this month. We wish them all the very best.
