Paul Mitchell Style System Seminar
[Thu 20/10/2011 12:30:53]
The largest independently owned professional hair care company in the world, Paul Mitchell evolves by the motto ‘when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change,’ and in honour of this, Paul Mitchell Australia presented a new education platform for aspiring hair fashion leaders to embrace new trends in the quest to further skill and client base.

The two hour look and learn seminar was headed up by talented Paul Mitchell Associates, Anna Ntalianis and Kara Layton from Anaka, Melbourne, and session stylist queen; Lee Matthews of Pure Fresh, Melbourne – assistants Stacey Corcoran from Pure Fresh and Emily Robinson from Anaka.

The concept of the seminar is to demonstrate nine looks susceptible to a 20 – 30 minute timeframe – the ideal blueprints for that last minute client on her way to the Melbourne Cup, or the woman who decides she’d like her hair up post-colour treatment, opposed to the standard blow wave.
From ultra preened French inspired styles to perfectly imperfect texture and the kind of braid work we’ve just been hit with from Paris Fashion Week, the looks demonstrated at the Paul Mitchell Style System Seminar were diverse and comprehensive leaving all 40 participants inspired and empowered to make a difference to their work in the salon and in the studio.

The looks that catered to daily salon requests to the most avant garde editorial brief were a result of heavy research into impending European trends and local demand. The capacity of the Awapuhi Wild Ginger (AWG) by Paul Mitchell care and styling range was showcased throughout the design process of each look – AWG Texturizing Sea Spray and Finishing Spray proving heroes.

Models were dressed in the latest threads from popular Aussie brand, Mok Theorem and make-up artist; Dora Ntalianis worked each models make-up to suit the look at hand – evolving facial features from soft and dewy to dark and smoky.
