From College to Client

Supporting careers in hairdressing, Scott Sloan has created a mentoring programme specifically developed to close the gap between vocational study and salon life.

Approaching two private hairdressing institutions within his salon catchment, Scott introduced the concept of an interactive session entitled ‘From College to Client’.

With the help of two members of his Sloans of Lane Cove team, Senior Stylist Jordan Hone, and Advanced Senior Stylist and Salon Manager, Isobel Allan, interactive presentation formats were designed and addressed to 60 students at The Australasian College.

Jordan Hone kicked off the session with a presentation that provided the students with an authentic insight into the huge scope of career opportunities available for those who commit to work hard and really leverage key opportunities early on.

The second seminar, led by Isobel Allan, was aimed at better preparing students for the realities of working in a salon, and educating them on what salons are looking for when recruiting new team members.

Following this successful launch of the ‘College to Client’ mentoring program initiative, Sloans are in the process of identifying additional seminars for the Australasian College and other educational facilities in the New Year.
