It’s the most comprehensive insight into the next local leaders of our industry. The IHS competitions continue to welcome talent of all levels to step up and compete across a series of categories designed for the die-hard bridal stylist to precision cutter and colour technician.

The springboard for current greats such as Frank Apsotolopoulos, Joey Scandizzo and Marie Uva, IHS competitions combine live individual, team and photographic competitions in what is always a high-energy day that reveals daring interpretations of trends to come.

From muted, lime green mow hawks to classic cuts and colours synonymous with Sassoon, all were impressed with the work from our future hands of Australian hairdressing. However despite fierce competition for the spotlight this year, focus was truly on winner of IHS Face of Competition for the second consecutive year, Paul Mitchell Associate Kobi Bokshish of Intershape, Bondi Junction. The salon owner and avid Paul Mitchell artist has progressed in leaps and bounds since his first competition win in 2010 – when he took out The Face of IHS for the first time. Kobi has just arrived home from competing in the Alternative Hair Show Visionary Awards and Best Video Category of the Association Internationelle Press Coiffure (AIPP) Awards.

“I can’t believe I have won two years in a row! It is such an honour to receive this award once again and have my work promoted through 2011 and 2012 as The Face of IHS,” said Kobi.

Other historical awards came with Rokk Ebony stepping forward as Salon Group of the Year for an incredible eleventh year in a row, and the crew from Joey Scandizzo Salon stepping up as Individual Salon of the Year.
