The Unrefined Dimension

The Josh Goot woman has grown up, casting aside the designer’s well-known body-con designs and replacing them with longer hemlines and more elegant silhouettes with a mature colour palette.
“I was thinking about what options women working in the city actually have to wear [to] look cool and they were minimal,” Josh says. “I think our aesthetic can lend itself well to doing that seamlessly, in a way that doesn’t sacrifice our belief systems but still gives them some great options.”
Working with this brief, Redken 5th Ave NYC Artist Sophie Roberts created a multi-textured ponytail, both natural and refined, for Josh Goot’s Autumn Winter 2012 Look Book.
Sophie created a look of 1990’s minimalism with an aim to create a style which was effortless and dimensional. The result, a ponytail that transcends from a fashion landscape to the home.
Get the Look
1. Blow-dry hair until it is dry to the touch, however not too dry so that a raw-natural texture develops.
2. Apply Redken Full Effect 04 all over-nourishing mousse to the lengths of the hair in vertical rows, approximately 2cm apart. This will produce a multi-textured, natural ‘scraped-back’ look.
3. Use your eyebrows as a guide to style the ponytail just below the crown.
4. Finish with Redken Fashion Work 12 hairspray for shine and hold.
