Ornate Salon Prismatic Collection Launch

Treating 60 leading clients, including Redken delegates, to a taste of tropical delight Ornate Salon served cool cocktails to the sounds of DJ Katt Niall whilst a behind-the-scenes video delivered a sneak-peak into the spectacular 'Prismatic Collection' shoot setting of Hamilton Island.

“This season, for summer its very beach babe with expensive peek-a-boo highlights and balyage/dip dyed hair,” said Nathan. “Colour blocking has also made it onto the runways this summer so we incorporated that into the hair as well. Lots of bright colours, tanned skin, bronzed dewy make up, and slicked hair as well. Very dry, undone, disheveled textured hair is here this summer and the “wet look” is back; get ready!”

Get the Look:
The night before:
• Wash the hair with Redken Colour Extend shampoo and conditioner.
• Prep the hair with Redken Guts 10 on the roots with Velvet Gelatine 07 on zones 2 and 3 as well as All Softs new Argan-6 on zone 3.
• The hair was blow waved and set in pin curls with bobby pins not pin curl clips (this was to make it easier for the girls to sleep).
• The hair was smothered in Redken Fashion Works 12.
The Dry Look:
• Pins were taking out just before we were about to shoot and we sprayed the hair with a little of Redken Natures Rescue sea spray as well as Wool Shake 08.
• Wax Blast 10 was sprayed on the roots to help give some texture as well as give some root lift and depth to their natural colour.
The Half Wet Look:
• The roots were lightly sprayed down with a water spray bottle and Redken Hardware 14 gel was applied in zone 1 and combed into zone 2.
• Zones 3 was rouged and teased to create the opposing effects of a sleek texture against a dry frizzy texture.
The Wet Look
• The girl’s hair was wet through from roots to ends with a water spray bottle. Redken Subtle Touch from the All Soft range was used as a detangler to remove all the tangles in the hair.
• We then drenched the hair in Redken Shimmering Defence from the Colour Extend Sun range.
