Although a French brand at its core, La Biosthetique once again showed its international reach, this time by styling two major shows at Berlin Fashion Week. The brand was backstage for the Marc Cain and Dorothee Schumacher shows, as one of the event’s official sponsors.
For the large-scale Marc Cain show, over 30 La Biosthetique stylists worked tirelessly to ensure the fashion extravaganza came to life. Over 50 models walked along a purposefully-created 150 metre long catwalk decorated with Parisian rugs (there’s that requisite French tie-in!). Every model was given a different hair look by the team, ranging from braids to chignons and more, and tailored to suit each girl.
“We tried to give every model their own look and feel,” La Biosthetique International Creative Director Alexander Dinter shared. “The focus for the hair was beautiful shiny hair in a range of undone casual looks.”
The brand also created hair and beauty looks for many of the VIP guests, including supermodels Milla Jovovich and Alessandra Ambrosio, , acting icon Iris Berben and singer Lena Meyer-Landrut, for an event that was held at Berlin’s City Cube. Part of the team was Australian La Biosthetique representative Theo Dmitri, who expanded his session repertoire to Berlin, after stints in Paris and back home.
For Dorothee Schumacher, La Biosthetique set up styling shop backstage at the city’s Elizabeth church, where the event was held. A reflective silver catwalk was surrounded by large white lights, showing off a feminine collection of simple designs set in cool blue tones. To complement this unique vibe, La Biosthetique created a strong, sleek look, anchored by a middle part.
“We wanted to create a wet look that still had texture and movement through the ends,” Alexander said. “The style was achieved by building up layers of Style Promade through the top, to give the hair the wet look, then combing through Molding Cream in the mid-lengths and ends for textured moveable ends.”
