With experience working both backstage on runways and with a vast celebrity clientele, Joey Scandizzo is bringing the fashion and entertainment elements of his career together, as the official Hair Director on this season of Australia’s Next Top Model.
The show, which is now in its tenth season, has collaborated with Joey’s ELEVEN Australia brand as its official hair partner, and if you’ve been obsessing over the first few episodes that have already aired on FOX 8 (if not, we implore you to catch up, stat!), you’ll have even seen Joey on screen already.
Joey and his team were on hand creating the hair looks in each episode from the first shoot, through a range of very versatile photography sessions to the (as yet unaired) finale, including creating new styles for each girl in the always-dramatic makeover episode, where no drastic cut or colour is off limits.
Joey’s presence on screen joins newly-returned judge and supermodel Megan Gale, as well as host Jennifer Hawkins and judge/designer Alex Perry. Guest stars including Elle Macpherson, Gemma Ward and Miranda Kerr also make appearances to celebrate the national franchise’s milestone tenth season.
“It’s an absolute honour to work with Australia’s Next Top Model as their official hair partner,” Joey shared. We’re excited to welcome the next wave of top models!”
When it comes to supermodel styling, Joey recommends moisturinsg treatments (for example, ELEVEN Australia’s Miracle Hair Treatment) and hydrating care products to protect against constant heat styling for models always on shoots and shows, while volumising products are essential to maintain body and texture in these stringent conditions. He also recommends a versatile cut (think classic, longer layers) when it comes to the girls’ new makeovers, and suggests ELEVEN Australia’s Smooth & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum to deal with bright lights that make flyaways all the more visible.
With Bachelor winner Snezana Markoski a regular client in salon, Joey’s dalliance with reality TV is ever-growing. Maybe the next stop will be his own show – we’d watch it.
