evo Style Adelaide Fashion Festival 2016

Seven fashion events over four day was the massive task facing evo last week, ahead of the 2016 Adelaide Fashion Festival. Partnering with the Clip Joint Creative Team, with hair direction by Atilio Dusa, evo hair acted as the fashion festival’s official hair partner, styling the very best South Australia’s fashion community had to offer. Sold-out crowds, international guests (such as global supermodel Coca Rocha) and the state’s selection of food, wine and live music made this a festival to remember.

Starting on launch night with a 200-person strong crowd, the fashion inspiration travelled to South Australia’s far north, pairing fashion with indigenous art, live music and an installation of designers involved in the festival. Hair was kept simple, sleek and straight so as not to distract from these significant themes.

Moving onto the first runway, set at Victoria Square, which focused on Australian labels (take Finder’s, Keepsake The Label and C/MEO Collective), the hair team created an undone plait and an effortless bun for seamless styling. The second runway showed off contemporary women’s fashion, featuring classic hair anchored by a deep side part, with evo’s builders paradise working hairspray instrumental in creating strong structure.

Runway three was defined as ‘new classics’, with labels such as Acler, Naomi Murrell, Good Studios and The Daily Edited paraded on stage. A 70s inspired afro was the go-to hair look, with an almost triangular shape, balancing out the minimalistic, more simple fashion designs.

The next runway was a ready to wear offering, and the styling was all centred around evo’s whip it good styling mousse and gangsta grip bonding resin, creating a relaxed, wet look to complement designs by So It Goes The Label, Casper+Pearl, Stone, Lexi Clothing, Julie White and more.

The final two runway shows were focused on Adelaide couture label Paolo Sebastian, with Coca Rocha opening the show. Set amongst wildflowers, the hair team created an effortless and elegant look that paid homage to the hippie era, with a small braid created over wavy hair.

Diversity was key in this varied festival, and as such evo and the Clip Joint Creative Team utilised the full evo tool kit and the myriad of skills in their repertoire to perfectly style four days of fashion. Next year, we think we may be travelling down south.
