When multi-award winning, oft British Hairdresser of the Year Sally Brooks of famed hair institution Brooks & Brooks puts out an editorial hair offering, we sit up and take notice. Sally is back with the Unmanufactured collection, an actively pedestrian collection that takes hair fashion to the streets and revels in the undone.
“My collection celebrates teamwork,” Sally said. “Removing the elements of ‘safety’ and working with girls off the street, we used high street clothes and a friend that used lockdown to teach himself photography! The collection is raw and real and a reflection of the world we live in. The changing face of our industry and the grit and determination we have to create.”
The collection of ten images features a grunge vibe, mullet style cuts, wet textures, a focus on eye makeup and street fashion. A different approach for Sally, Unmanufactured finds the beauty in simplicity and the rawness of hair art.
