Sydney’s beauty media started the day with breakfast at The Grounds of Alexandria on Tuesday, to celebrate the launch of Dermalogica’s Overnight Retinol Repair. The brand’s Director of Global Product Development, Sona Tolani, and Education Manager Emma Hobson detailed the intricacies of Dermalogica’s newest innovation.

Over coffee, toast and bircher muesli, Emma explained the complex scientific components to the Overnight Retinol Repair, the latest addition to the AGE Smart range. The product harnesses the power of retinol, one of the most powerful ingredients medically recognised to increase skin firmness, improve skin tone and accelerate skin renewal.

On its own, the retinol molecule, included in the formula through as Vitamin A at 0.5 per cent concentration, is unstable, so Dermagolica have utilised microencapsulation to maintain these high concentration levels but still allow for stability. The product also offers an advanced customisation option in its skincare regimen.

Comprised of peptides, stabilised Vitamin C, natural botanicals such as Lavender and Licorice Rice, a unique bioenergised Copper Amino Acid Complex and more, the product boosts collagen formation, treats wrinkles, offers antioxidant protection, increases moisture and soothes irritated skin.

Paired with a Buffer Cream as a two part skincare system, Dermalogica has again shown its affinity for innovation – refusing to compromise concentration for stability and instead harnessing the best of both worlds.
