Emiliano Vitale, Creative Director of Sydney’s é SALON, has been awarded second place in the Best Photography category of the Association of International Professional Hairdressing Press (AIPP) Grand Trophy Awards for his Transience collection.

The AIPP Grand Trophy Award recognises outstanding artistic achievements by professional hairdressers and Vitale was the only Australian entrant to win a place this year, in the awards that received 209 collections from salons in 21 countries around the world.
Winners acroos five categories included Francois Mazeau (France), for Best Commercial Award, Desmond Murray at Atherton Cox (UK) for Best Avante Garde, Jean Claude Aubry (France) won Best Men Award and X-Pression (Spain) triumphed in the Best Video Category. Vitale was pipped to the post in his category by Toni & Guy’s Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck who won Best Photography.
Award recipients were voted by AIPP Magazine members throughout the world, and received their accolades at the awards ceremony held at the prestigious Espace Cardin in Paris. Hosted by AIPP President Roberto Pissimiglia and AIPP Awards Founder Mike Vincent, the 13th annual awards were presented prior to the Tribu-te Show – a creative hairstyling event that assembled an international audience made of hundreds of hair professionals.
The event was summed up by AIPP President Roberto Pissimiglia. “The AIPP Awards – the world’s most renowned awards in the hairdressing industry – is an expression of the purpose of the AIPP, confirming the importance of the professional trade press to hairdressers all over the world.”
