Caterina Di Biase, Australian Hairdresser of the Year 2009 and artistic director of Melbourne’s Heading Out Hair & Beauty salon group, has been appointed to the honorary role of National Technical Ambassador at Easydry, to help promote their green agenda.
Over two years ago, Caterina met with Easydry inventor Anne Butterly and has been familiar with the biodegradable, recyclable towels ever since. She will now introduce them to Heading Out’s academy and five salons.
Caterina chose Easydry because they’re robust, soft and hygienic while promoting staunch eco credentials.
“As hairdressers we need to be environmentally responsible, water usage is high in salons and we have to address that. Using Easydry towels is a simple way to do more because they help us save water and are biodegradable and environmentally safe,” said Caterina.
“As a hairdressing group in Melbourne, where water is so scarce – we need to do all we can. This is our contribution to the community,” she added.
Easydry towels were invented five years ago by Anne Butterly, who has slowly built it into an international business.
The towels, which are biodegradable and highly absorbent, have the benefit of allowing salons to switch over to top-quality disposables without burdening the environment or increasing costs.
In September 2009, Easydry was recognised as Innovation of the Year at the British Hairdressing Business Awards.
