F.R.O.C benefit raises $20,000 for cancer research

Titled F.R.O.C. (Fundraising Research of Cancer) and organised by Andrea Pavlou of Melbourne’s Xiang Hair, a group of over 400 people gathered in Little Bourke St for a fashion show to raise funds for the Peter Mac Foundation’s ongoing cancer research.

Hosted by Channel Ten personality Helen Kapalos on March 23 at The Apartment on Little Bourke St in Melbourne, the event raised in excess of $20,000 for the foundation. The sell-out event showcased the Autumn/Winter collections from designers Trimapee, Dhini, White Suede, Arthur Galan and Nylon Flocks by Nicola Finetti.

The night was held in honour of a Xiang Hair client who lost her battle with Thyroid Cancer in 2008. With one in three men, and one in four women diagnosed with cancer, organiser Andrea Pavlou felt compelled to raise funds for the cause.

With time, services and raffle prizes from ghd, Steve Madden and Ella Bache Ivanhoe to name a few, the model’s hair was styled by Xiang Hair in collaboration with L’Oréal Professional and American Crew.

The sell-out success of this year’s event will see it return as an annual charity event from next year. For further information contact Andrea Pavlou at Xiang Hair on (03) 9417 5515.
