Fashion Weekend


It was handbags at dusk on Thursday November 12 as the opening night of Fashion Weekend kicked off a long-weekend of dedicated shopping, catwalk parades and more bargains than you could shake a shoe at.

Fashionistas and shopaholics united, credit cards at the ready, all there to revel in Australia’s biggest sartorial summer sale.

Over 120 designers had stalls displaying their discounted wares with labels including Marnie Skillings, Alice McCall, Fleur Wood, Nicola Finetti, Bracewell and Samantha Wills.

Not only was Fashion Weekend a veritable treasure trove of stylish delights, visitors also had a host of extras to enjoy.

Catwalk parades ran throughout the day on the hour, beauty makeovers were provided by Gorgeous Cosmetics, hair was styled to perfection by ghd and manicures given in the essie nail bar.

The shopped-out and weary were able to relax in the Tempus Two lounge over a drink, while recharging their energy for a further bout of bargain hunting.

With designers discounting their stock up to 70% off, it was no wonder bags got heavier and wallets became lighter, as shoppers stocked up on designer goodies for a fraction of the price.

By Last Chance Sunday – the final day of the event – there was no doubt wardrobes around Sydney had enjoyed a designer-clobber revamp with thanks to a fashion weekend to remember.

Fashion Weekend


Fashionista’s were out in force from May 14-17 as over 10,000 consumers stepped out to score some fashion and beauty bargains at Sydney’s annual Fashion Weekend.

100 Australian designers offered up to 70% off their latest collections with the likes of sass & bide, Marnie Skillings, Nicola Finetti, Ginger & Smart and Fleur Wood present at the event.

There were also several beauty stalls set up to offer expert tips as well as fabulous ticketed catwalk shows showcasing the latest trends on models sashaying with voluminous curls courtesy of ghd Directive John Pulitano of Headcase Hair.

ghd continued their support of all things fashionable as a premier partner and exclusive hair sponsor of the event.

The ghd team tended to over 600 clients throughout the four day event with complimentary 15 minute makeovers and mini-education sessions for those who already own, and those in the market for, a ghd IV styler. The six styling stations were fully booked within hours of the event opening each day and the most popular hair request event was a lesson in how to create big bouncy curls.

The essie nail bar offered express manicures while Dermalogica offered complimentary skin analysis while Chambord was the exclusive drinks partner of the event with a Chambord bar that sold their plush velvet liqueur in cocktail after cocktail to the thousands of punters throughout the day’s events.

The Chambord Bar provided a welcome reprieve from the heaving crowds and was the perfect lounging area for guest to recline in between their hours spent shopping.

From all reports the Fashion Weekend was a raging success and will no doubt continue as a hotly anticipated event on the fashion calendar.
