As the official partner of the 2013 Adelaide Fashion Festival (AFF) that runs from 17th to 26th of October, KEVIN.MURPHY will once again help showcase both emerging and established talents in South Australia’s fashion industry, writes Adeline Kintono.

In its sixth year, AFF has become a firm fixture in the South Australian events calendar, a perfect medium for the state’s fashion talents to show the best they have to offer.

This year, the KEVIN.MURPHY team will be led by Festival Hair Director Lucy Lasenzaniro – a prolific hair artist with 30 years experience in the industry – who will be in charge of creating the looks for the Official Opening Party at Government House.

“Having worked very closely with Kevin Murphy for the past three years on a mixture of campaigns, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, events and education, it’s an honour to represent his brand at the Adelaide Fashion Festival,” said Lasenzaniro. “The event is the perfect opportunity to work with local fashion designers and showcase on-trend hair looks for the season ahead.”

Aside from the Opening Party, the team will work their magic on three key shows – Uros Mikic from Kinky Curly Straight salon will be directing the Norwood Place Parades on Norwood Parade, Jason Fassbender from Parlour Hair is Show Director for the TAFE SA Graduate Parade, and Cain Rumbelow from Tempest Salon will direct the Boutique Event. Lasenzaniro herself will also be styling the 2013 AFF Campaign Shoot starring leading Australian model and the Festival’s ‘face’, Lucy Bayet, whose résumé includes representing MaxFactor, Olay, and Fiat.

There are 14 scheduled events during the festival, including showcases by some of the best local designers such as Cameo, Finders Keepers, Keepsake and more.
