Leading Indonesian brand, Makarizo hosted an impressive global-scale salon tour at some of Bali’s most idyllic locations while guests got into the spirit at the Hard Rock Resort at Kuta Beach from May 2-5, 2009.
Themed Balencio Dimensionale (Balance of Dimension), the tour’s aim was to inspire and unite hairdressers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the US and Australia – with more than 300 hairdressers attending the event.
“The idea behind Balencio Dimensionale is to have the ability to hold two opposite ideas in mind and still retain the ability to function,” said Makarizo Group General Manager, Shierly Nangoy.
The Makarizo Australia team presented more than 90 minutes of ideas and inspiration specifically designed to bring together the conference ethos of balance and dimension with a season-specific AutumnWwinter colour twist. Makarizo is distributed by renowned Perth-based distributor, Diamond Head, owned by Margaret Muratore.
“We fused cool and warm tones and looked at fashion forecast colours related to the season including copper, burnt orange and plum,” said Makarizo Australia Training Director, Aldo Muia.
Aldo encouraged hairdressers to not be afraid to experiment and to create new variations in colours and colour placement. The other three artists completing the Australian team included; Jude Dierden, Umberto Valerini and Vikki Brown. Jude used her vast technical experience to reveal a ‘freehand’ colour process. “I’m a bit of a non-conformist when it comes to colour – we are looking at very 80s looks in hair and fashion, it’s all coming back in again,” said Jude.
Vicki used her exemplary cutting skills to create strong, sharp lines to complement the dramatic colour while Umberto produced a catwalk-ready style using the combination of a scissor and razor to create a layered look.
An impressive ‘New York Fashion Week’ style catwalk was set-up for the Sunday night celebrations, while guests had the opportunity to network, make new friendships and share their passion for hairdressing and the Makarizo brand.
Leading Malaysian and artists from the Makarizo artistic team continually impressed the snap-happy crowd.
