Spring was in full bloom on the stage of L’Oréal Academy in NSW this month when the newly opened Murphy Gozzard Hair Community (formerly Suki Paddington) showcased their talent by presenting their interpretation of L’Oréal Professionnel Spring Summer Collection, Ombrés Nature, writes Adeline Kintono.

Over 100 salon owners were treated to champagne and canapés on arrival as they were entertained by Asten Music – a six piece classical band that aims to transform popular music into symphonic masterpieces – followed by an inspiring display by  L’Oréal Professionnel Colour.ist Team member and Murphy Gozzard Hair Communtiy owner Brett Albury. On stage, Albury and his team explored the latest in on trend colour innovations, cut and styling trends.

“The purpose of the event was to launch the Ombrés Nature Spring Summer Collection by L’Oréal Professionnel to other salon teams,” said Brett McKinnon, co-owner of the Murphy Gozzard Hair Community.

“We were really pleased with the night. It was an incredible team building exercise for use and we were so proud of the stunning work that our team produced. We were blown away by the number of people that attended the evening, Chris Hudson and his team did an amazing job in promoting the event,” he said.

The Murphy Gozzard Community showcased the ombré colour trend using the new L’Oréal Professionnel INOA mocha shades, with the shift towards more natural reflects and subtle colour graduations.

“We wanted to have a really varied selection of cuts and colours and editorial looks to show,” explained Brett. “We had 14 models altogether and some we did the techniques and formulas straight out of the collection so the audience could see how they look in real life. Other looks were a lot stronger as it was our teams chance to get creative and push the boundaries that maybe we don’t always get to do in the salon,” he said.

“We were really hoping the audience be inspired to go back to their salons and experiment with these new techniques and the new colour palette. We are so lucky to be given these new techniques each season by L’Oréal Professionnel, they are always right on trend and they inspire us to try new things and to put our own stamp on them,” continued Brett.
