Redken Future Color finalists announced


Eight talented young hair colourists from around Australia were announced on Friday 9th July 2010, as the official finalists of Redken 5th Avenue NYC’s national colour competition: Redken Future Color.

The Redken Future Color State Finalists are:

Standing out from hundreds of entries received from salons around the country, these eight aspiring and talented hopefuls are set to catapult their careers into the realm of professional hairdressing as they compete head to head for the coveted title.

The Redken Future Color Competition provides young colourists with invaluable exposure and exclusive opportunities to launch their career and a chance to show off their talent as a colourist to the nation.

“This competition has given me the greatest opportunity to be creative and work alongside some of the most admired idols in our industry. Winning something like this has really inspired me and my passion,” said 2009 Redken Future Color Winner, Natasha Freer, SA.

For the 2010 competition, young colourists were required to submit a look that exhibited their interpretation of this year’s dynamic theme Biomimicry.

The finalists are now one step closer for the chance to win over $70,000 in prizes, including a trip to New York City during New York Fashion Week and seeing their winning look featured on the cover of INSTYLE Magazine.

The winner of this prestigious colour award will be announced at the Redken Future Color finals party to be held on Sunday 8th August 2010 at Neverland, South Melbourne, VIC.

Redken Future Color finalists announced


Dedicated to exploring the creativity of our nation’s burgeoning colour talent, Redken Future Color has announced eight finalists in this year’s competition.

The only colour competition in the country dedicated to showcasing the best of the nation’s emerging colourists (those with less than six years experience), the competition provides Australia’s young talent with invaluable exposure, countless opportunities and the perfect platform from which to launch their career.

Congratulations to the following eight Redken Future Color finalists who will compete in a live final at the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne on Sunday August 9, 2009:

This year’s Redken Future Colour theme, Techno Primitive, draws inspiration from techno funk, afro soul, eclectic trance and vibrant colour and the live finals party will be presented by Video Hits host Fuzzy and will trip to the beat of the funk and hip-hop sounds of the Public Opinion Afro Orchestra.

Not only will the winner become the Redken ‘Young Ambassador’ of the year but the prize haul includes a return trip to New York with $2000 spending money, the possibility of creating your very own editorial shoot in Culture Magazine and the opportunity to have your winning image published on the front cover of INSTYLE magazine.
