Wella Professionals kicked off its annual Trend Vision Awards with a series of presentations held through March set to enthuse and inspire.
Australia’s top stylists gathered in five major cities to present their interpretations of this year’s themes to over 1000 hairdressers.
INTERSEXION, UTOPIA, VIRTUAL LIFE and DE LUSH were all illuminated by some of the industry’s brightest lights – Joey Scandizzo of Rokk Ebony, Jacen Ward of Toni&Guy and Hamish Glianos were just some of the stylists in attendance.
Excitingly, this year saw the addition of the all-ages colour category, opening up the competition for the first time to those aged 30 and over.
Jacen Ward and Jo Smith of Toni&Guy interepreted INTERSEXION with a model sporting both long and short hair, embodying the androgyny of the theme.
Shane Crow and Francesco Petrone from People by Hamish Glianos presented UTOPIA – short geometric cuts featured straight and curly elements with both square and circular shapes.
Frank Apostolopoulos and Jenna Haimes of Biba Salon interpreted VIRTUAL LIFE with blunt fringes and graphic shapes in deep brown and red.
Marie Uva and Danielle Barca of Rokk Ebony presented deep browns, flowing curls and volume for an uber-glam take on the DE LUSH theme.
The launch also featured an area titled the Trend Zone where themed corners emphasised the importance of creating an overall look rather than just focussing solely on the hair. Runway looks, accessories and sartorial inspiration illustrated all four themes in an exciting and creative way.
