Global hairdressing’s most famous faces sat across from each other last week, probably looking over your editorial images for the Australian Hair Fashion Awards. The high-profile group – consisting of hairdressers such as Angelo Seminara, Eugene Souleiman, Akin Konizi, Sam McKnight and Nicola Clarke, were around for the AHFAs judging process, which is particularly notable in 2017 as the event celebrates its 25th year.
The awards ceremony, proudly sponsored by L’Oréal Professionnel, combines hair, fashion, beauty and photography to recognise the industry’s elite in each field. As such, it was only fitting that such an esteemed judging panel take the reins of deciding who will walk up on stage at Luna Park on April 2nd.
In addition to the group of styling and colouring talents mentioned beforehand, who judged every award, British editors and journalists such as Amanda Nottage and Matthew Batham added to the judging panel. Meanwhile filmmaker Philip Dupée judged Hair Fashion Video of the Year, while Lisa Oxenham, Style & Beauty Director of British Marie Claire and makeup artist Mary Greenwell decided on Make-Up Artist of the Year.
“L’Oréal Professionnel is the perfect partner to the Australian Hair Fashion Awards,” commented General Manager of L’Oreal Professionnel Olga Zanetti. “We are both committed to nurturing local Australian talent and enabling our hairdressing colleagues to shine both in this country and on a global scale. We wish all of those who entered the very best of luck.”
With this high-profile and exhaustive judging process, there’s no doubt that those who are called up at the AHFAs deserve it – we can’t wait to see who’s names are on the cards!
