Maybe it’s the spectre of looming Halloween in the air, but October has been a time of shifting looks, personas and trends in Hollywood. Notably, bold hair colour changes have been popular, with soft, pastel hues, bright primary colours and altogether drastic colour departures making up the A-list trends this month.

Something is definitely in the air in Hollywood – take a look at the 5 celebs below and see for yourself.

1. Ariana Grande

The singer has previously spoken about her extensive hair damage, and explained it as the reasoning behind her eternal half-ponytail hair look – and while the half-ponytail remains in her latest album artwork, Ariana’s formerly dark tresses have taken a turn to silver. Due to the aforementioned damage we’re inclined to believe there are other forces at work here, but this huge shift is bound to encourage your clients to opt for change.

2. Kendall Jenner

Kendall debuted what is sure to be the next trend – this pale pink, salmon colour with dark roots (and statement red lips) is daring but surprisingly wearable and a craze waiting to happen.

3. Ellie Goulding

Showing up to the MTV Europe Music Awards, Ellie Goulding’s new hair colour was a red carpet highlight (bad pun, sorry). This highlighter hue (dubbed as Barbie Yellow, Electric Yellow and even orange by the international media who just can’t seem to make up their minds) is a vast departure from her more natural tones. It’s definitely a win for summer.

4. Rihanna

Rihanna changes her colour so often the media hardly pays attention any more – but they should. This cool electric blue hue, seen here on stage, makes us once again grateful that Rihanna seems to have no loyalty to one particular style or tone.

5. Gwen Stefani

Gwen opted for this unique dip-dye look – a bright dark blue element that stands out with back edges against her otherwise blonde hair. Could this be a quirky new trend for the upcoming season?
