8 Things You Need On Your Agenda This Hair Expo

You’re busy, we understand, so it might be difficult to plan exactly what you need to do this Hair Expo – or list all the things you’re excited to see. Luckily we’re here as your proverbial secretary, shining a spotlight on the event highlights, and pointing out the main things to do over the long weekend. As the event is from June 10 to 12, and as such is just four days away (!) let’s get to the major things you should be incorporating into your Expo agenda.

1. The Floor

Major haircare brands, education programs, software companies, tool distributors and more line the expo floor, and as such any hairdresser should have any and all of their products needs met. Traipse through the maze that is the Hair Expo floor (grab a map and program at the front door) like a bona fide kid in a candy store – and just so you don’t get too lost, find a full list of exhibitors and their stand numbers here.

2. Education

It’s an impressive three-day education menu, with optimal business and peak creative sessions (with creative colour, salon trends, technical skills and aspirational styling) all covered in full. Australia’s biggest hairdressing names and some huge international pulls share the stage come Expo – don’t believe us? See the line-up here. And because we like you, read more about education ticket specials here.

3. Eugene Souleiman

Arguably the biggest name on that list is none other than acclaimed session stylist Eugene Souleiman who is making his way Down Under to share his global backstage secrets. Attendees at his Sunday show will come away with inimitable knowledge to ignite their careers – to put it lightly, it’s an unmissable show. See more about it here.

4. GenNext

The industry’s emerging stars control the room on Sunday night of Expo, with GenNext and it’s new mentor program owning the evening. Sponsored by INSTYLE (come say hi and grab a photo for the chance to win prizes, just by the way) and pointing to what the future of the creative hairdressing industry has to offer, you’ll leave awed, inspired and satisfied with where the industry is heading.

5. Parties

You’ll be partying the night away at a fair few industry events across the harbour, we’re sure, and central to these events is the Masters of Hair Gala to open the festivities on Saturday night. Hosted by Richard Reid, the event welcomes Jayne Wild, Sassoon’s Mark Hayes and Edward Darley, Frank Apostolopoulos, Sharon Blain, Danny Pato and Guy Tang to the stage, for a night equally devoted to inspo and frivolity.

6. Hair Expo Awards Gala

It’s a night for the industry to dress up, network and discover who’s won the coveted array of awards – signifying 2017’s class of hairdressing royalty. With all of these talented finalists in the mix, we can’t wait to see who comes out with the gold at the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Gala.

7. INSTYLE Stand

We’ll be on stand D147, with video pack prizes, product giveaways, subscription offers and our brand new May June issue. Subscribe, sign up, enter and come say hi! More info about INSTYLE at Hair Expo is right here.

8. The Stages

Apart from the education rooms, there will be a multitude of sessions at three stages across the floor all weekend long. The Main Stage will be your primary port of call, with styling techniques, colour collections and trend focuses taking place by some big hairdressing names. Meanwhile, the Manstyle Lab Stage will show off aspirational barbering and the Launchpad Stage gives up and coming talent their place to shine.

What are you looking forward to?
