We bid farewell to Afterpay Australian Fashion Week for the year with First Nations Fashion + Design (FNFD) as the final show. From pastel swimwear, handheld signs and natural, texturised hair looks from hair partner Redken, FNFD was a beautiful ending to an amazing week of fashion, writes Ashleigh Matheson.
“The First Nations show was challenging. Not just because it was about individuality just in terms of hair looks, but individuality in terms of personality too,” hair director Richard Kavanagh revealed backstage. “It’s very challenging but also rewarding to work on such a diverse event show with less structure and a lot of individual needs.”
“Getting to be part of this community and representing hair in a way that’s more natural, unique, and individual, was so rewarding because of the deep personal connection each person had to their aesthetic,” Richard continued.
Key products backstage included Redken’s Quick Blow-Out, and Fashion Waves 07 Sea-Salt Spray.
Embrace and celebrate natural texture with Redken’s three-step guide.
