The Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) is hitting the road to refute the notion that talk is cheap, with a new education tour focusing on consultations. Recruiting the help of the ‘consultation king’ Dario Controneo, the new tour will forgo technical know-how to focus on an often overlooked skill – the art of conversation.
Dario will begin the tour this Tuesday in Brisbane, before travelling to eight more metropolitan and regional destinations around the country over the next three months. The Mentor Program will teach tips on how to effectively engage clients during a consultation, provide them with the best experience, give advice and ultimately inspire them. Critically, it will also cover how to deal with the more difficult salon clients we all tend to meet.
Harnessing his own experience through his work at Sydney’s DARIO Salon, renowned for its A-list clientele, Dario will be spilling his own secrets in creating the optimal client experience.
“The AHC recognises that one of the area’s most in need of attention is consultation skill and conversation with clients,” said AHC CEO, Sandy Chong. “Whether your client is new or existing, every stylist needs to be confident in the fact that their own communicative skills are at their most effective.”
After Brisbane on August 11th the show will head to Adelaide on August 18th, Canberra on August 25th, Sydney on the 7th of September and Melbourne on the 8th of September. The latter half of the tour will visit Hobart on September 22nd, Perth on October 20th, Newcastle on October 27th and Wagga on November 10th.
