In case you weren’t already hyped enough, Thor: Ragnarok is launching on our movie screens this weekend, and what better way to celebrate the premiere than by trying to emulate Chris Hemsworth’s luscious Thor locks? American Crew barbers Mitch from Men’s Biz and Dustin from The Barbershop created a pop-up barbershop of sorts at Bondi, captivating Thor enthusiasts (both men and women) who lined up for a free cut.
The barbershop draws on a major feature of the new movie (spoiler alert) – Thor has parted with his trademark long hair and instead now opts for a short and textured cut with signature side-shaved detail that we hear is all the rage in Asgard.
The barbers were joined by a Thor impersonator, and enjoyed a live cross from Channel 7’s Sunrise program, which captured locals lining up for the ‘Number Thor’ haircut. The duo gave away free haircuts for four hours, drawing the crowds and creating even more buzz (pun intended) around the all-new blockbuster.
American Crew Firm Hold Styling Cream proved the hero product in creating this looks, ensuring hold and versatility to create definition in the hair. The cream is enhanced with panthenol and castor oil to nourish and protect the hair as well.
The concept was a cross-state affair, with American Crew All-Star Winner Ben Kane of Rokk Man Barbers creating his own salon-based, Thor-inspired cuts (yes a Thor impersonator showed up that too) and winning his own slot on Sunrise Melbourne.
Like we needed another reason to run to see this film.
